The movie chronicles individuals who are creating a more peaceful and humanitarian society. Urgent and important issues are established as well as positive solutions of how the human spirit can evolve for the sake of self, community, and the universe.
A parallel story takes the audience through a poignant and witty journey that teaches how we can initiate change. Libby (Brianna Bendotti) is the everyday American. During her daily routine she has become distraught over the course of events and direction of her country. This leads her first to frustration and a feeling of helplessness, then to an epiphany where she makes a decision ask more questions and begin looking for the answers. After attempting to discuss her feelings with her friends, Libby finds herself standing in front of the Arizona State capitol building where she meets a mysterious man (Ian Calvin) who leads her on a roller coaster ride through the thoughts and minds of those working to establish a peaceful and enlightened society. Libby then learns about the power of one in her pursuit of knowledge as she continues to meet Arizona Department of Peace Campaign Coordinator, Terri Mansfield, in places that are unexpected and enlightening.
The story emphasizes the establishment of non-violence as a founding principle in contemporary American society. In her journey of enlightenment, Libby discovers the existence of two current legislative bills in the US Congress that are based on principles of peace. One bill is creation of a “Department of Peace” in the Administrative Branch of federal government, and the other is a ban of weapons in space. (Space Preservation Act and companion Space Preservation Treaty) Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced both bills in Congress. By the end of the story, Libby realizes that it only takes one person to start making constructive changes in the malefic conditions facing her community and country.
